Morphology Keyword:
Note: This CME is visible to the S/SE in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and GOES CCOR-1 imagery. It is not visible in STEREO A COR2 imagery due to a data gap. The source appears to be a complex eruption stretching from well beyond the SE limb to the Earth-facing side of the disk. Starting around 2026-01-23T20:36Z there is a filament eruption with associated moving/opening field lines, EUV wave, and post-eruptive arcades as seen in SDO/AIA 193, 171, 211, 304, and GOES SUVI 284 and 304 imagery. Large deflection to the south is visible in initial SOHO LASCO C2 frames. It is unclear what the cause of this deflection is, but it may be due to nearby coronal holes. This CME overlaps the CME first seen in SOHO LASCO C2 at 2026-01-23T17:12Z which is associated with a similar portion of the filament eruption which may have helped trigger this complex eruption associated with this CME.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |
